What’s better than treats I hear you ask. Why treats delivered to your door of course! Charlie is normally unbothered by the postman. He normally brings bills, that means less money for his luxuries, however as soon as the door knocked the drooling started! It’s lucky that the postman likes dogs because Charlie was all over him. I was a little confused as to why he was acting the way he was, but as soon as he handed me the box it all became clear.
I was surprised at how big the box was and expected something similar to the letter box size we’ve had before. The box was jam packed with 9 different types of treats including: a large pigs ear, chicken feet and plenty of other super smelly items; forgetting the doggy tea.. What’s even better is that everything inside is all natural so not full of any nasties and made in the U.K. They even test their products on their own dogs. (Charlie’s asked for an application form, it’s about time he earnt his keep!)
We do loads of training classes every week and attend competitions or dog friendly events on the weekend (we need all the experiences we can to fill up these new blog posts after all), so high value treats are essential. A high value treat is something your dog would sell their tennis ball, soul, evening meal, walks or even their owner for! I assure you that Charlie would’ve sold me for anything in this box and had no second thoughts about doing so.
As far as Charlie was concerned, I was being a silly human for; A) Not opening the box fast enough and B) Not allowing him to devour everything the second I had finally opened the box. How dare I keep this delicious box of goodies from him! Have you ever tried to open the mail with a toller making sure you aren’t swiping any of the goodies for yourself? It takes about 10 times longer than normal.
The kangaroo sticks were one of my favourites as I could break them up, making them great for training. We found that they were super high value so used them to develop Charlie’s gun dog skills at a day long training event. They were so good they kept him engaged all day and made him work even harder. I think I was also every dogs best friend that day as my hands kept getting investigated to see if there were any spare bits that they could get their paws on.
After sampling all the goodies crammed inside the box Charlie’s favourite was a tie between the fish skins, the pigs ear and the chicken feet; although, having said that, he couldn’t resist chewing the Capelin (it’s a bit like a giant Sprat) when I asked him to hold it and pose for a photo with it, so really I think everything in the box was his favourite.
I think the best thing about this box though is that it’s only £15 a month and the amount you get is great value for money. They also do a smaller box for £10 a month which contains 5-6 packets of tasty treats. The only thing that could improve this box is worldwide delivery so everyone’s pooch can enjoy the delicious treats (oh and maybe some poo bags!).
